Seeing a dietitian individually

Minimalist home office with a wooden desk, beige office chair, laptop, notebooks, and books on the desk and shelves, illuminated by sunlight through a window.
A pile of fresh oranges with green leaves, one orange peeled in half showing the inside.

You don’t have to suffer in fighting food alone. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own or turn to contradictory advice on the internet to find nutrition solutions that fit your unique needs.

“What do you do in nutrition counseling?”

We’re glad you asked! Everyone does. Here is how to get started & what it looks like to work with UN individually.

Use the link above to fill out the contact form and schedule your free 15 minute discovery call. A discovery call is used to briefly discuss your goals & expectations for nutrition counseling, if we initially feel like a good fit, and to answer any overarching questions you have about nutrition counseling. Nutrition recommendations are not provided in this call.

1. Discovery Call

If you decide you would like to move forward with nutrition counseling or a group after the discovery call, you will be made an active client in the HIPAA-compliant electronic medical record, asked to complete intake paperwork, and be scheduled for an intake appointment.

2. Moving Forward

The intake is a 60 minute assessment where your dietitian begins to get a good idea of what your work together will entail. You will review health history, medications, labs, food, movement, eating history, goals and much more to get a zoomed-out picture of your needs. Nutrition interventions are not established in the initial assessment.

3. Intake Appointment

4. Follow Up Appointment

A follow up is 45 minutes. These appointments provide the opportunity to establish nutrition interventions, provide nutrition education, check in on progress and adjust as needed, work through barriers and questions, and celebrate successes. Follow ups are ongoing for continued support & deeper exploration of addressing your nutrition barriers. This is where nutrition counseling becomes individualized to meet your unique needs so the content, duration, and frequency of these sessions vary person to person. It is required to complete an intake assessment before participating in a follow up appointment.
